During the last 33 years, I have had a number of close-calls, where I almost died but survived. In these situations, it really drove me to God realizing that I won’t be here on this earth forever. It really helped me to be more dedicated to reading the Bible, praying, and seeking the Lord for strength, help, and wisdom.
As we enter a new year, I want to encourage you to take a look at your own life, number your days, and get your heart right before God.
In table tennis, there is so much comparison – this coach is better than that coach – this program is better than that program. Sometimes, comparison is good and sometimes it is bad. In this short article, I would like to say some good things about players/coaches in the US and say what we can learn from them…
As we start off a new table tennis year, make it your goal this year to teach your kids how to work hard. All the US coaches now agree.... this is the toughest thing ever... dealing with half-heartedly-working-kids. If you don't teach your kids to work hard when they are 7 years old, then they won't likely work hard in high school, won't work hard in college, and they won't likely be good workers as adults either.
I would like to congradulate Joe Ciarrochi as being player/coach of the month. Not just during the month of December, but throughout the entire year Joe has really been a joy to work with. He is eager to learn new skills (and realizes that it isn't easy) while at the same time offers advice to anyone in his path. Joe, keep working hard on your game - I appreciate the hard work in your own game and the hard work that you invest in others! Check out the most recent article by Joe Ciarrochi...

About 90% of the beginners that come to me for the first time have problems with their grip. Developing the correct grip from the start will help give you a good foundation - correcting a bad habit later will be 10x more challenging. It is always easier to learn something correctly than to try to re-learn it later. Check out these short clips...
