Congrats to 6-year-old Fiona Dubina for becoming the SDTTA January Student of the Month.  Fiona earned the award for doing a 94 hit footwork drill on wide angle shots combining both backhand and forehand.  Fiona will be featured on TV (Cleveland 19 WOIO TV) next week.  I'll post the exact time that the clip will be featured.

During the last 33 years, I have had a number of close-calls, where I almost died but survived.  In these situations, it really drove me to God realizing that I won’t be here on this earth forever.  It really helped me to be more dedicated to reading the Bible, praying, and seeking the Lord for strength, help, and wisdom. 
 
As we enter a new year, I want to encourage you to take a look at your own life, number your days, and get your heart right before God.

As we start off a new table tennis year, make it your goal this year to teach your kids how to work hard. All the US coaches now agree.... this is the toughest thing ever... dealing with half-heartedly-working-kids. If you don't teach your kids to work hard when they are 7 years old, then they won't likely work hard in high school, won't work hard in college, and they won't likely be good workers as adults either.
