Matthew 28:18-20And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
After Jesus rose from the dead, he commissioned Christians to go out into the world make disciples of all nations. So why do I have a Bible verse of the week and share my faith on my website? Because I too have been commissioned by God. God has done so much in my life that I do want to share it with you.
I realize that when I point one finger at you (telling you what to do) I'm also pointing three fingers back at me. This year, as I strive to speak truth into your life, I hope to do it with humility, also realizing that I'm a sinner. I don't want to come across as self-righteous, that I'm so high and mighty because of my good works. I want to plead with you (in humility) to trust in Christ to be saved. No amount of good works or church attendance or charitable deeds can get you to heaven.
Titus 3:3-7For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
