But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith
What is the most important thing in your life?
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. -Proverbs 3:5-6
So why do I read the Bible? Why do I pray? Why do I trust the Lord?
I can be so self deceived about the world, God, myself and many other things. The Bible commands me not to trust in my deceitful heart but to trust in the Lord. He can give me wisdom and guidance to guide my life far beyond what I'm capable of doing. My prayer today is that God would direct my steps, all of them.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures
Bible Verse of the Week
By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
1 John 4:13-15
It is very sad for me to see many people inside the church and many people outside the church who don’t know the Bible; also, many that know it don’t believe it to be the Word of God. How does doctrinal error begin?
We see from the Bible that the Sadducees did not believe in the resurrection – did not believe in heaven, did not believe in hell. How did they develop this faulty belief? Jesus tells them in
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
Are you Saved or are you Self-Deceived? Check out this message from Pastor John MacArthur
I have been reading through the book of John in the Bible. Over and over throughout the book, Jesus explains that He is Divine and that man is only saved by believing in Him. Just over 2000 years ago, Jesus came, lived a perfect life, died the death of a criminal, and rose again to show that He has power over death. So, why did He come?
According to the Bible, after Jesus rose from the dead, He appeared to the apostles and more than 500 other eyewitnesses. Before ascending to heaven, here were some his parting words...
