Verses of the Week

John 15 and Romans 5

John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
People often ask me why I'm a Christian.  Why do you talking about Christ on your blog?  Why don't you just stick with merely table tennis?

Bible Verse of the Week

Mark 8:34-38

Psalm 90

Teach us to Number our Days

During the last 33 years, I have had a number of close-calls, where I almost died but survived.  In these situations, it really drove me to God realizing that I won’t be here on this earth forever.  It really helped me to be more dedicated to reading the Bible, praying, and seeking the Lord for strength, help, and wisdom.
As we enter a new year, I want to encourage you to take a look at your own life, number your days, and get your heart right before God.
The Bible Says…

Bible Verse of the Week

1 John 4:9
In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotton Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

Why do we feel the need for justice?

When we hear about a murderer or rapist who got away with no jail time, what do we feel?  We often feel the injustice.  How did that guy get away with it?
When we hear about an innocent man who was tried before the court and declared guilty when he wasn’t, what do we feel?
Proverbs 17:15
He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just,
Both of them alike are an abomination to the Lord.

Why do we feel for justice and injustice?

Saved or Self-Deceived

Which Are You?

Matthew 7:21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

The Story of Two Sons

Bible Passage from Luke 15:11-32

Luke 15:11-32

Buildings and Painters

Bible Question of the Week

If Jesus says in the Bible that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and that no man can go to God but through Him, then how do people who haven’t heard about Jesus go to heaven?
I have heard this question many times.  I will answer it in a moment.
First, I’m going to ask you a question…
When you see a building, how do you know there was a builder?  The fact that the building exists is proof of the builder.  You can’t have a building without a builder.

Bible Verses of the Week

I have been reading through the book of John in the Bible.  Over and over throughout the book, Jesus explains that He is Divine and that man is only saved by believing in Him.  Just over 2000 years ago, Jesus came, lived a perfect life, died the death of a criminal, and rose again to show that He has power over death.  So, why did He come?
