Bible Verses of the Week

Mark 8:34-36

Mark 8:34-36
When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?"
-Jesus

Our Mission

The Gospel
The Gospel

If the Samson Dubina Table Tennis Academy never produces a world champion or Olympic Gold medalist... But the Gospel goes out into the whole world and disciples are being made, I can say that my job is complete.

Jesus' final words...

Success

Quiz Yourself on the 12 Aspects of Mental Success!

The ITTF Advanced Training Manual lists 12 elements to mental success in table tennis.  Quiz yourself to see how well you are doing on each aspect.  Take 2-3 minutes to ponder each point.  Ask yourself how well you are doing on each point during important tournament matches.  If you aren’t doing well, ask yourself how to improve that aspect.

1. Physical relaxation – muscular tension is closely connected to miserable performance.  On the other hand, feelings of relaxation are associated with top performances.

Psalm 139

Bible Verse of the Week

Psalm 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
24 And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.

This Psalm is my prayer today; that God would help me to have a pure heart before him and that He would lead me.

Holiness or Happiness???

Check out Hebrews 12

One of my life verses is Hebrews 12:14
Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.

When I hear people pray, then often pray for happiness and health.  Is this really what we should be striving for in live?  Happiness?

Encouragement of the Week

Psalm 139

Psalm 139

139 O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
3 You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.
5 You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.

Bible Verses of the Week

Philippians 2:5-11

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.  Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,  and that

Physical vs Spiritual Health

Bible Verses of the Week
Read the Bible Passage from Mark 7

In recent years, there has been an increasing amount in information available regarding healthy eating.  I’m actually trying to eat healthier as well – it’s a good thing.  However, some people think that it is a main thing. In Mark 7, Jesus talks about the externals vs the internal.  What is more important, the food that we put into our bodies OR our heart and soul?  Yes, God wants us to care for our bodies, but our souls are far more important to him.

Bible Verses of the Week
Matthew 7:13-23

Matthew 7:13-14
Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Matthew 7:21-23

Bible Verses of the Week

John 3:1-21

John 3:1-21
There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”  Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
