Read Some Questions That People Are Asking...

While traveling for table tennis events, I have had many opportunities to speak to players about the good news of Jesus Christ.  There have been several questions that come up frequently and I would like to take the time to answer them in this blog post
Question:            Samson, is it narrow-minded to think that Jesus is the only way to God?  Aren’t there other ways to reach heaven?
Answer:               If there were another way to God, then Jesus would not have had to come to earth to die for my sins.  If somehow my sins could be paid for another way, the He would not have needed to be crucified.  Jesus Himself claims to be the only way to God.  John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father, but through Me.
Question:            Samson, isn’t it prideful to think that you know-it-all?
Answer:               Actually, the good news of Jesus Christ is very humbling.  It takes humility for me to admit that I’m a wicked sinner by nature.  It takes humility for me to realize that I can’t get to heaven by my good deeds.  The Bible says in James 4:6 God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. If you want to become a Christian, you first need to see that you cannot attain the righteousness of God on your own.
Question:            Samson, isn’t the United States considered to be a Christian country?  What about all of the wickedness?
Answer:               The United States is a very wicked country.   Just because someone acknowledges that they believe in God or that they believe in Jesus, doesn’t make them a true follower of Christ.  The Bible says in Matt 7:21 Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven.  James 2:19 says… You believe that God is one.  You do well.  Even the demons believe – and shutter.  So the answer is “no” all Americans aren’t Christians.
Question:            Samson, you are saying that the Bible is true.  What about the people who don’t believe in the Bible?  Can millions and millions of people be wrong?
Answer:               Yes millions of people can be wrong.  In Matthew 7:13-14 Jesus said,  “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
