Bible Verse of the Week
Galatians 2:16
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
Writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle Paul uses the term "the works of the law". This means anything that we can do to keep God's law, good works. This verse clearly explains that by merely doing good works, we cannot be made right with God. If we could just be "good", then God would not have had to send Jesus to earth to pay for our sins. The Bible explains that we can only be made right with God by putting our faith in Jesus Christ.
