Safety Update from Samson Dubina
The Samson Dubina Table Tennis Academy is still open. Is it safe? Will there be an outbreak of the virus? Will we continue to be open? Will you still be having tournaments? Yes, my friends, there are many questions being submitted from my followers worldwide. Today, I would like to answer 6 of the common questions...
.
#1 Who can go to the academy?
I have been very happy to see people being extra cautious in regards to coming. We have had many situations of people saying, I was hanging out with my friend last week, this week he got sick and was diagnosed with covid, I'm going to stay home for 2 weeks. Someone said, I had a cough with no other symptoms and just decided to stay home. There are many situations of people with a distant encounter to the virus who chose to stay home. On behalf of the Samson Dubina Table Tennis Academy, THANK YOU! I appreciate your concern for others, your understanding that the virus is serious, and you are using caution. As I have said many times before, if in doubt, please stay home.
.
#2 Have any of your players been sick this year?
Two of our employees had sickness in the family. So, I asked them both to stay home for awhile. They have now been at home for 6 days. One of their family members was diagnosed with covid today. So the call to stay home was a good call. Last month, another family had a family member who was sick, so all of the family chose to stay home - THANK YOU! Again, I appreciate anyone who errors on the side of extreme caution and stays home if they are unsure if they have the virus, if a family member has the virus, or if they were in contact with anyone who had the virus.
.
#3 How long have you been open?
We opened on June 15. Since that time, we have had an average of 15-25 people per day walk through the door of the academy. We have not had a single person with a temperature over 100 or showing signs of having the virus. How is that possible? It is possible because people are being cautious in regards to coming, which I'm very thankful for.
.
#4 How are you enforcing the use of masks?
In Sep-Oct, we had some difficulty enforcing masks throughout the day. I'm very happy to say that in Nov-Dec, people are doing a good job being compliant. However, I need to remind all of my customers that it is mandatory that you have your mask on until you stay playing. That means, that you wear your mask to the table, put your mask in your racket case or pocket, then put your mask back on before leaving the court. Violations? What happens in the future if someone continues to violate the mask policy. First, I'll give them a verbal warning. Second, I'll have them sign a paper so that they understand the policy and understand that they will be asked to leave. Finally, if they violate again, they will be asked to leave and not return for 2 weeks. This sounds strick, but I want all of our customers that we are serious about keeping people safe.
.
#5 Will your events continue as planned?
Yes, we still plan to have our weekly events as well as our Dec 28 - Jan 1 training camp, Jan 2 unsanctioned tournament, and Jan 29-30 usatt sanctioned tournament. If there are any changes, I will post it on my website www.SamsonDubina.com as well as send out e-mails with any updates.
.
#6 How can I help?
If you are a Christian, please pray that God would continue to use the Samson Dubina Table Tennis Academy as a means of bringing families together, getting good exercise, and as a means of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. If you are able to partner with us in any way, please let me know. We recently became a 501(C)(3) non-profit association. So any donation to the Samson Dubina Table Tennis Academy is tax deductible. Also, if you would like to sign up for any upcoming event, that would also help us out! If you would like to come for a few days of training, that would also be amazing. Also, as Christmas is right around the corner, we have some great ideas for you including gift cards, team uniform, innovative products, and of course Power Pong robots.

Thanks and see you soon!
