As we are approaching Easter, I thought that we should take a moment and consider the reason we celebrate Easter – the Resurrection of Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:12-19
Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen.  And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up—if in fact the dead do not rise. For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen.  And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.

If Christ did not rise from the dead, as recorded in Scripture, then preaching about him would be absolutely useless.  Consider these points:
2. If there is no resurrection…  faith in Christ would be useless
3. If there is no resurrection…  all the witnesses and preacher of the resurrection would be liars
4. If there is no resurrection…  no one would be redeemed from sin
5. If there is no resurrection…  all former believers would have perished
6. If there is no resurrection…  Christians would be the most pitiable on earth
7. just pause for a moment, consider the significance of Christ rising from the dead

Christ proved his divinity by rising from the dead and He proved that had has power over death and He proved that He has power over our death.
