Moving Forward

Today, USATT gave me my certification as a National Coach.

Moving forward, what are my goals?

1.     Perspective
Keep everything in perspective, giving God the glory for it all in word and deed.  Colossians 3:17 says…  And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

2.     Training
Restructure table tennis in Ohio.  Right now, we have 13 clubs within 50 miles from Akron, that is great, that shows that table tennis is growing and there is a huge interest.  But I need to do more than just be happy with numbers, I need the players to be training together on a daily basis in a structured training center environment.  As Dan Ives said in a recent interview…  “Getting players to the elite level isn’t just about having an amazing coaching, it is about having the right environment.  Take the best coach in the world, put him in the wrong environment and he will produce zero top players.  Take a mediocre coach with players in the right training environment, and they will have amazing results.”  You see, the player’s success is not just based on the level of the coach, but it is also based on the daily training environment.

3.     New Products
Over the next decade, I’ll be releasing a full product line of new, innovative, never-before-seen table tennis products.  TT-Flex™ targets one small aspect of fitness.  These other products will enhance the game on the table, not just fitness.  The prototype for the next invention is almost complete.  We just need to get the patent before it is released to the public.

4.     My Game
Moving forward, I plan to keep playing.  I enjoy the game, I have plenty of sponsors who generously support me, and I think that it is good for my coaching to keep practicing and competing because it keep me thinking and trying the latest techniques and tactics.
