"I have traveled throughout Europe for most of my life training and competing.  Samson's clinics are much more detailed and organized than any that I have ever attended.  I'm very excited to be a part of his summer clinics and help the Ohio players." - Robert Eriksson (Swedish Men's Singles Bronze Medalist)

Many players have been asking about the exact format and details of the clinics here in Akron, Ohio.  So I decided to publish the detailed outline so that you can know exactly will take place throughout the weekend.

Bible Verse of the Week

John 1:17

John 1:17
For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

In the Bible, when it talks about "the law" it refering to God's law, or God's standard of right and wrong.  God's moral law was summarized in the 10 commandments given to Moses on Mr. Sinai.  God's standard clearly showed the people of that God that they had sinned against God.  However, there was no salvation in just being "good" because they already had sinned.  God's grace came through Jesus Christ.

Fitness Training

Check out these 5 videos!

Dear Students,

As we begin a new season of training in preparation for the US Nationals.  I would encourage each of you to re-watch some of these fitness videos and choose several exercises to do on a regular basis to improve your strength and speed.  Write down which exercises that you feel will help you the most and we will go over them together in our next lesson.

See you soon!

Bible Verse of the Week

Psalm 119

Psalm 119:105
Your Word (The Bible) is a lamp unto my feet and light unto my path.

Drills

Learn about Multi-Tasking and Unit-Tasking

At the lower-levels, it is critically important to unit-task, to focus exclusively on one particular skill and get it right. With many of my students who are rated 300-800, I will focus exclusively on their forehand loop or backhand push for 20-30 minutes and give them homework on doing shadow strokes or robot practice for just one skill at a time.

Steel City Open

Domination in Pittsburgh

Great job to all the Samson Dubina Table Tennis Academy players who competed in the Steel City Open.  In the 89 player tournament, the SDTTA players won 33% of all the trophies and 46% of all the prize money.  Keep working hard!
I'll see you this Tuesday for group classes and see you this Thursday for league night!
