For various reasons, some players choose to change their racket handle. In this article, I’m going to give you a step by step process of what needs to be done.
#1 Remove the rubber
#2 Boil a large pot of water
#3 Dip the handle of the racket into the water and allow it to boil for 10-15 minutes
#4 Take the racket out of the water and dry it off
#5 Using a flat-head screwdriver, gentle pry the handle off the blade starting near the head of the racket
#6 Glue your new handle to your old racket with a light layer of wood glue
#7 Allow the handle to dry for 5 hours then adhere the rubber to the blade
If your new handle doesn’t perfectly match up to your blade, then take sandpaper and smooth out the rough edges. I personally like both my handle and racket. I use the Nittaku Acoustic Carbon Blade with Nittaku FastArc G-1 rubber available for purchase at Paddle Palace.
